Friday 12 April, afternoon.
“I just don’t don’t know what I can do about it.”
Climate change, plastic pollution, pollution of sea, land and the air we breathe – it can be hard for people to find practical solutions to these problems. But the world would be a better place if we all did things to help address these problems, taking steps, however small, to help. We call this “Purposeful Doing”.
While giving time (volunteering) is recognised by the UN, there is no similar focus on “doing”. With this in mind, Berlin-based movement The Do School launched a pilot “Do Day” in 2018 with a challenge to do something to address plastic waste.
How can we build on this to create an “International Do Day”, focusing on what people can do to create a better world? What challenges could arise? How can we spread this idea across the globe? WeWork and MeetUp are already on board – what other partners could help make this happen?
Florian Hoffman, founder of The Do School, will lead an interactive session to help make International Do Day a reality.
The prefect session for: Anyone who wants to look at proactive, practical ways to make the world a better place.
